John with 4.5lb Bass (first catch of the day) and Shane looking onFishing adventures around Orlando

Florida is often referred to as "The Bass Fishing Capital of the World" and this reputation extends to fishing in the Orlando area and close to EllaVista’s location. If you are looking for a break from the theme parks and an opportunity to view beautiful lake scenery and perhaps catch that “fish of a lifetime” then this is a real possibility during your stay.

Situated close to EllaVista are many of the great individual or chain of lakes that consistently produced big trophy bass year round and have long been known as some of Florida's best trophy bass fisheries.

Central Florida is host to the Butler Chain of Lakes, which are located in and around the town of Orlando. They are close to all 3 major theme parks, and offer some excellent bass fishing on what must be some of Florida’s most pristine and scenic waters.  Butler Chain is referred to as more of a chain of lakes, with clean, clear waters and deep holes.  Depths range up to almost 40 feet and offers some great bass fishing action using a wide variety of techniques from typical live or artificial worms or shiners to jigging spoons making these very popular lakes for all types of fishermen.

The Clermont Chain is yet another great bass fishery, providing that "Old Florida" look. With the tannic waters from the cypress trees that ring these great lakes and the river that takes you to the many lakes on this chain, it gives you the feel of what life was like before big development arrived in the state. This great Central Florida fishing chain presents the opportunity for some great bass action, and double figure fish weight are caught year round. What is better is that the Clermont Chain of lakes are located less than 15 minutes from EllaVista.

The success of any fishing trip depends on many things; weather conditions, water temperature, where to go, what equipment to use and when and how to use certain baits. The one most important asset in the success of any fishing trip is the knowledge of the area being fished.

Shane, a novice angler, with his first catch (and Chuck)My advice to anyone seeking a great full or half days fishing that provides a no hassle fun experience for either the experienced or novice angler, is to use one of the experienced local bass fishing safari experts. These allow you to turn up with just your suntan lotion, sun hat, camera and a willingness to enjoy an incredible experience. Let the professional provide the boat, fishing equipment, cool drinks and in-depth knowledge of where the fish are located and most importantly how to catch them. Then relax and be prepared to make the catch of your dreams.

I can recommend Chuck Crow Adventure Guide Services. Chuck is a highly experienced Florida fisherman who does not just operates a safari adventure service but is a very successful competition bass fisherman. Chuck is larger than life with a ready smile and a keenness to place you where the largest fish are feeding.

As an added bonus Chuck is also an experienced Taxidermist so should you desire to have a permanent reminder of that special fish then he can certainly assist you using his other talents.
